3. Maintaining your heat pump

Your Dura+i Inverter Heat Pump is as good as maintenance-free. In order to guarantee the proper functioning of your heat pump, we have listed a few useful tips. Make sure that the plants around your heat pump are well pruned and free of leaves. This allows the airflow to circulate optimally. Your DURA+i heat pump is fitted with a small pipe that drains the condensed water to avoid water-puddles. Check occasionally that other objects do not obstruct the drainpipe. If the evaporator (the air intake grill on the side or at the back of your heat pump) is dirty, it can be cleaned very easily. Dust particles and leaves that have crept between the slats of your evaporator can easily be removed with a vacuum cleaner. TIP: backwash regularly through your filter pump for optimum water flow. Finally, before hibernating, drain the water from your heat pump and cover it with the matching cover. If in doubt, we are always at your disposal should you have any additional questions.

4. Full Inverter Technology

Popular in the domestic heating and air conditioning sectors, Full Inverter technology adjusts precisely the fan and the compressor, turning the heat pump into a smart pump.

Unlike a traditional heat pump, the Full Inverter compressor starts up gradually. If the set temperature is far from the swimming pool actual temperature, an automatic regulator boosts the heat pump’s capacity for a quick rise in temperature. During swimming season, and to maintain the set temperature, the heat pump operates at reduced power.

This constant operation means that the Full Inverter heat pump operates in a more stable way and preserves the compressor from unwanted starts and stops, resulting in energy savings of over 35%.

5.  What size heat pump do I require for my pool?

The sizing guide for a covered pool for May-Sept use is:-

Please note that these sizes are based on May-Sept use. To ensure that you maintain a good water temperature as long as you cover the pool with the solar cover for as many hours a day as possible (max 4 hours uncovered). The colder the outside air temperature (including night temperatures as this is the coldest time where you will lose most heat) the larger the heat pump size you will need (kw)

8. Installation

Installation is very easy and straightforward.

The  Dura+i Inverter Heat Pump is connected to your existing pool pipework

It uses the existing pool circulation pump to pump the pool water through it.

Please see the user manual below for more information on how to install your  Dura+i Inverter Heat Pump

9. Savings

Using the Dura+i Inverter Heat Pump to heat your pool rather than an electric heater will save you money on running costs

The Dura+i Heat Pumps only uses 1.39kw of electricity to produce 16.1kw of pool heat.

If you compare this with an electric pool heater, a 10kw electric pool heater would use 10kw of electricity

The Dura+i Heat Pumps therefore is only less than 1/10 the running cost of an electric pool heater – saving you money!

10. Pool Hose or Pipe

You may need to purchase an additional length of pool hose/pipe to connect from your heat pump to the pool
